Abstract Collages

I wanted to share some art work created earlier this school year, so that anyone who was not able to visit us at Barstow Elementary when the collages were displayed in the hallway could still enjoy these abstract creations!

Environmental Assemblages

More examples of the environmental assemblages created by 4th Grade students at Barstow Elementary.

I asked students what they imagined as they created their assemblages.  Here are several of their responses:

I was imagining I could build a skyscraper;

I imagined making a tower that would stand up and be durable;

I imagined a big monument;

I imagined how my work would look in a museum;

I imagined the beach and the twin towers;

I imagined I was in Atlantis;

I imagined a big mansion with colored sea shells.

These sculptures were created by 4th Grade students at Barstow Elementary. 

We used found objects such as driftwood and shells and recycled materials to create towers.
